Ukulele Circle: 7:00pm

Activity Director: Rob Carnegie

Join the growing sensation of Ukulele playing in a casual no-judgement environment. Ukulele is a fun and low barrier way to learn musicianship.  Ukulele has grown past its stereo-type as a Hawaiian genre instrument and today can be used in any genre.  Playable soprano Ukuleles can be purchased for as little as $50.  We also have a number of ukuleles available for loan during the orientation lesson and ukulele circle events.  Ukuleles can also be borrowed from branches of the Fraser Valley Library.

At 7:00pm, Ukulele Circle is a traditional practice where we go around the circle widdershins (counter clockwise), with each musician choosing a song to play and sing.  Most songs are selected from a chord chart book that can be purchased from Chilliwack Music Academy.

Buying a Ukulele?  There are 5 sizes commonly available BUT the Sopranino and the Baritone each have thier own unique tuning, so that means the chord shapes will be different.  We recommend buying any of the middle 3; Soprano, Concert or Tenor.    Still not sure?   Buy from a dealer that offers a 1 month return policy, that way you can try it out.  STILL not sure?  Buy one in each size, that way you can't go wrong.
